Ka-Band Transceiver Up-Downconverter

970980-25/27/14/383AC | 25 to 27 GHz

Description

The Mi-Wave 970980-25/27/14/383AC Ka-Band Transceiver provides bidirectional frequency conversion for microwave communication, radar, telemetry, and test systems operating from 25 to 27 GHz. The unit combines an upconverter transmitter and downconverter receiver in a single aluminum chassis, simplifying integration into Ka-band RF systems.

In transmit mode, the transceiver accepts an IF input from 2 to 4 GHz and converts it to an RF output between 25 and 27 GHz. In receive mode, incoming RF signals from 25 to 27 GHz are downconverted to an IF output spanning 2 to 4 GHz.

A nominal 23 GHz internal local oscillator provides the frequency translation for both operating paths. The transmitter offers approximately 3 dB typical conversion gain, while the receiver provides approximately 2 dB typical conversion gain.

The unit includes a 10 MHz external reference input for synchronization with external frequency standards and other system equipment. A USB Type-A port provides a digital interface for applicable control and configuration functions.

The transceiver is housed in a rugged aluminum chassis measuring approximately 10.55 × 19 × 1.6 inches and operates from a +12 VDC supply. The RF interface uses a female K connector, while the IF and 10 MHz reference ports use female SMA connectors.

Typical applications include Ka-band communication links, radar systems, telemetry platforms, satellite communications, frequency-conversion test systems, laboratory research, signal monitoring, and custom transmit-and-receive architectures.
