E-Band RF Downconverter

Model: 970E-60/90-12/10F | 60 GHz–90 GHz

Description

Mi-Wave RF downconverters provide reliable frequency translation for millimeter-wave communication, radar, test, and measurement systems. The 970E-60/90-12/10F RF Downconverter converts RF input signals across the 60 to 90 GHz frequency range into lower-frequency IF signals from DC to 12 GHz, making high-frequency signals easier to process, analyze, or route through conventional microwave equipment.

The downconverter uses an external 10 to 15 GHz local oscillator input and provides a typical conversion loss of 15 dB. Both the LO and IF ports use female SMA connectors, while the RF input uses a WR-12 waveguide interface with a UG-387/U flange.

Designed for millimeter-wave applications, the unit supports a typical RF input power of +5 dBm, with a maximum RF input power of +12 dBm. The typical input P1dB is −5 dBm, and the typical noise figure is 15 dB.

The compact housing measures approximately 1.0 × 1.0 × 0.4 inches and is manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum with a gold-plated finish. It operates from a +6 to +12 VDC bias supply and typically draws approximately 0.3 A.

Typical applications include V-band and E-band receivers, millimeter-wave radar systems, satellite and terrestrial communication links, spectrum monitoring, laboratory test systems, signal intelligence equipment, and research platforms requiring conversion of 60–90 GHz signals to a manageable IF frequency.
