Ka-Band Receiver

970A-39.65/599 || 39.4 to 39.9 GHz

Description

The Mi-Wave 970A-39.65/599 Ka-Band RF Receiver provides high-performance signal reception and frequency conversion for microwave and millimeter-wave systems. It is engineered to receive 39.4 to 39.9 GHz Ka-Band signals and convert them to a lower intermediate frequency while maintaining low noise, stable gain, and excellent signal integrity.

Operating across a 500 MHz RF bandwidth, the receiver converts incoming Ka-Band signals to an IF output from 950 to 1450 MHz. This standard L-Band output enables straightforward integration with demodulators, digitizers, signal processors, and other receiver equipment.

An internal local oscillator provides stable and repeatable frequency conversion across the operating band, simplifying system integration and minimizing external synchronization requirements.

Optimized for low-noise receiver front ends, the 970A-39.65/599 provides a low single-sideband noise figure and high, stable conversion gain. This performance helps preserve weak incoming signals in high-sensitivity communications, sensing, and scientific systems. Internal filtering suppresses unwanted image responses, while controlled gain stability supports consistent operation across temperature and changing environmental conditions.

The receiver features a WR-28 waveguide RF input for connection to Ka-Band antennas and front-end components. An N-Type IF output supports integration with common L-Band processing chains. The unit operates from a DC power supply and is suitable for laboratory, ground-based, and fixed receiver installations.

Typical applications include satellite communication downlinks, radar receivers, telemetry and tracking systems, atmospheric sensing, radio astronomy, signal monitoring, and RF test and measurement systems requiring excellent sensitivity, frequency stability, and long-term reliability.
