50 GHz–110 GHz Broadband Receiver

970 Series Receiver

Description

The Mi-Wave 970 Series 50–110 GHz Broadband RF Receiver provides wideband signal reception and frequency conversion across the millimeter-wave spectrum. Its dual-band architecture covers 50 to 75 GHz through a WR-15 RF input and 75 to 110 GHz through a WR-10 RF input.

The WR-15 receiver path provides an IF output from 9 to 25.75 GHz, while the WR-10 path provides an IF output from 3.5 to 26 GHz. This broad output-frequency coverage supports integration with microwave receivers, digitizers, spectrum analyzers, signal processors, and RF test equipment.

The receiver provides a minimum RF-to-IF gain of approximately +18 dB. Typical noise figure is 6.5 dB for the WR-15 path and 7.0 dB for the WR-10 path, helping preserve weak millimeter-wave signals across both operating bands.

A typical band-switching time of approximately 3 µs enables rapid transitions between the two RF input ranges. This capability supports broadband signal monitoring, frequency-agile measurements, electronic warfare, and other systems requiring fast access to multiple millimeter-wave bands.

Designed for broadband reception, the unit provides low LO-to-RF leakage, controlled internal spurious performance, and separate WR-15 and WR-10 waveguide inputs. A 2.92 mm female connector provides the IF output, while a female SMA connector accepts the external reference signal.

The receiver is housed in a compact 6061-T6 aluminum enclosure measuring approximately 5.3 × 6.1 × 1.3 inches. Nickel, iridite, and gold finish options are available. Power and control connections are provided through an 18-pin Molex connector with a 2 mm pitch.

Typical applications include V-Band, E-Band, and W-Band signal reception; electronic warfare; signal intelligence; radar testing; spectrum monitoring; millimeter-wave communications; laboratory research, and broadband RF test and measurement.
