Description

The Mi-Wave 970980-25/27/14/383AC Ka-Band RF Transceiver provides bidirectional signal transmission, reception, and frequency conversion for microwave communications, radar, telemetry, satellite communications, and test systems operating from 25 to 27 GHz. It combines an RF transmitter and receiver within a single rugged aluminum chassis, simplifying integration and reducing system size, cabling, and component count.

In transmit mode, the transceiver accepts an IF input from 2 to 4 GHz and upconverts it to an RF output between 25 and 27 GHz. In receive mode, incoming 25 to 27 GHz RF signals are downconverted to an IF output from 2 to 4 GHz.

A nominal 23 GHz internal local oscillator provides frequency translation for both signal paths. The transmitter offers approximately 3 dB typical conversion gain, while the receiver provides approximately 2 dB typical conversion gain.

A 10 MHz external reference input allows the transceiver to synchronize with external frequency standards and other system equipment. A USB Type-A port provides a digital interface for supported control and configuration functions.

The transceiver is housed in a rugged aluminum chassis measuring approximately 10.55 × 19 × 1.6 inches and operates from a +12 VDC supply. Its RF interface uses a female K connector, while the IF and 10 MHz reference ports use female SMA connectors.

Typical applications include Ka-Band communication links, radar systems, telemetry platforms, satellite communications, RF test and measurement, laboratory research, signal monitoring, and custom transmit-and-receive systems.
