281B-XX/.XXX/383

33 GHz to 50 GHz, 30 dB Isolation, 30 dB Cross Polarization, Q-band Orthomode Transducer

Description:

Mi-Wave’s 281 Series Orthomode Transducer couples two orthogonal linearly
polarized signals simultaneously while providing polarization isolation between
transmit and receive.

Orthomode Transducers (OMT’s) are used in applications involving radiometers and dual-polarized antennas, and can be used as a diplexer for communications links. They feature low insertion loss and broadband operation.

Orthomode Transducers OMT 281 Series

Orthomode Transducers separate a signal applied to the circular waveguide input port into its two linear orthogonal components at the rectangular waveguide output ports with greater than 30 dB isolation between the polarizations. In reverse, two orthogonal linearly polarized signals combine, producing an output in the circular waveguide port. The resulting polarization may be linear, circular, or elliptical depending on the relative phase and amplitude of the two orthogonal input signals.
