Product Description

Mi-Wave’s Series 263 Dual-Polarized Wide-Angle Scalar Feed Horn Antennas are precision-engineered antennas designed to deliver broad beamwidth coverage, stable radiation patterns, wideband electrical performance, and reliable polarization behavior across RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave frequency ranges. These antennas are optimized for applications requiring wide angular radiation while maintaining low VSWR, predictable gain, and stable Vertical (V) and Horizontal (H) polarization performance.

The Series 263 design combines a scalar feed structure with a wide-flare horn geometry to control electromagnetic field distribution at the aperture. This configuration enables wide beamwidths of approximately 55°, making these antennas well suited for low F/D ratio parabolic reflectors, including F/D = 0.5 and 0.4, as well as offset reflector configurations where proper illumination, polarization stability, and controlled spillover are critical.

For dual-polarized operation, Series 263 Wide-Angle Scalar Feed Horn Antennas can be integrated with Mi-Wave’s Series 281 Orthomode Transducer (OMT) to support separate Vertical (V) and Horizontal (H) polarization paths through the same antenna aperture. This allows two orthogonal RF channels to transmit or receive simultaneously while maintaining high isolation between polarization channels.

By efficiently transitioning energy from waveguide into free space, Series 263 antennas provide uniform reflector illumination, stable gain, consistent radiation characteristics, and reliable dual-polarization performance across a wide operating band. This helps reduce alignment sensitivity, improve aperture efficiency, and simplify system design in reflector-based antenna systems.

Series 263 dual-polarized wide-angle scalar feed horn antennas are well suited for satellite communications, radar, test and measurement, reflector feed systems, telemetry, and research applications where wide beam coverage, polarization separation, repeatability, and predictable performance are required.
