Linear to Circular Polarizer for Satcom

Available in 8 to 220 GHz

Product Description

Mi-Wave’s Linear to Circular Polarizers for Satellite Communications are precision RF components designed to convert linearly polarized signals into circularly polarized signals for use in modern SatCom systems. These polarizers support microwave and millimeter-wave frequency bands, enabling reliable polarization control in satellite uplink, downlink, feeder link, and ground station applications.

Circular polarization is widely used in satellite communications to reduce polarization mismatch, mitigate antenna orientation errors, and improve link robustness in dynamic or long-range propagation environments. Mi-Wave linear to circular polarizers are available in Right-Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) or Left-Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP) configurations and are engineered for stable performance across wide operating bandwidths.

Note: The linear to circular polarizers shown on this website represent only a portion of Mi-Wave’s manufacturing capabilities. We design and build additional polarizer configurations beyond those listed. Consult with Mi-Wave to discuss your specific frequency band, bandwidth, interface, or polarization requirements.

What This Product Does for SatCom Systems

Linear to circular polarizers convert an incoming linearly polarized RF signal into a circularly polarized signal by introducing a controlled phase shift between orthogonal field components. This produces a rotating electric field that maintains its polarization orientation relative to the direction of propagation.

In SatCom systems, this conversion:

  • Enables compatibility with circularly polarized satellite antennas

  • Reduces polarization mismatch losses between ground and space segments

  • Improves link reliability in long-distance and high-frequency propagation

  • Supports simultaneous RHCP and LHCP channel planning

These benefits are especially important at Ka-, Q-, and V-Band frequencies, where polarization accuracy directly impacts link margin and system performance.

Typical SatCom Applications

Linear to circular polarizers are commonly used in:

  • Satellite uplink and downlink chains

  • Ground stations and gateway terminals

  • Ka-Band, Q-Band, and V-Band SatCom systems

  • Feeder links and high-throughput satellite networks

  • Payload testing and RF subsystem validation

  • Antenna polarization alignment and verification

  • System integration and commissioning environments
